Editing is an inherently collaborative experience and it’s my job as the editor to keep that at the forefront of the process. Your voice, your style and your intentions guide the suggestions I make throughout the editing stage.

For me, editing is a creative exercise as much as it is an analytical one. While there are technical methods that underpin my editing practice, I believe creativity and expression should always be at the core.

Whether you choose to use the Oxford comma or not, or are working within US or UK spelling conventions, I’ll guarantee that the editorial and narrative choices made are consistent.

No one knows your story as well as you do. I respect that you will always have final say. My suggestions are supported by my experience as an editor, my qualifications and training, and my instincts as a reader and writer. But they are still suggestions!
